Longboard hanger

DIY wall mount

There are multiple different patents to hang skateboards on the wall. Very popular are horizontal shelves or racks for single or many boards - unfortunatelly, they take a lot of space.
I needed something more compact, to hand by board vertically.
This would allow me to store the board in the dark corner behind the doors.
Finally I found a solution:

Perfect hanger for my board

Thanks to vertical orientation you don't need a long wall as the board does not take a lot of space.
This type of wall mount require require however more specific hooks to match the board wheels.
You can get similar result with PVC pipes, but these are often too flexible, so you need to find a thicker ones.
Additionally, you have to cut the pipes in two dimensions to match the wheel dimensions.

I was looking for something simpler and easier.
I found this stackable plywood rainbow on the DIY section in the Action store:

Wooden rainbow from Action

The largest rainbow has 105mm of inner diameter.
Second largest element matched exactly mo my wheel size - 85mm Seismic Speed Vents.
The elements of the rainbow are 5mm thick, which means you get 10mm step in the diameter of all elements. This appear to be a perfect solution for most of the wheel sizes.

The only thing to do was to mount the 'hooks' on the wall.
To make it stable and in the same time easy to use, the hooks need to be mounted under a specific angle.
This means the screw holes have to be made in certain places. Check the below diagram for details:

I decided to mount the hooks at around 1/4 of the arc length, which makes around 45 degrees of tilt.
Also I has to remember to hide the screw heads, so they not stick out and damage the wheels!
